![]() ![]() I think it was a fairly well respected shop. I used to know who made the holsters, but I've lost the link. The barrel ports and slide work should be easy, and I may hit up Monsoon Tactical for that since he seems like a dude that would dig this project. Fortunately, I know what I want done and it is pretty straight forward. Since the movie probably was filmed in 1996, that's been 27 years ago.the person who made the guns could be long gone. At the time, the person I spoke with in the custom shop had no clue who did the work and wasn't very helpful. ![]() I called Springfield Armory a couple of years after the movie came out, maybe 1999 or 2000 and I was a broke kid really just mouth watering over the idea with no real means to make it happen. ![]() I'm open to suggestions on 1911 smiths and finish companies who would want to do this project? I want to get the slide flats polished and do a TiN finish on those. Having said that, I am going to do the 1911 frames in a brushed finish, so I'll definitely reach out to Brazen first. I had a 2011 slide done in TiN by them and it looks good but it is a brushed finish. I've used Brazen Firearms in the past for some coating work, but I remember them saying before that they don't do polished finishes. IMFDB is awesome.Īnyway, I'm in the very beginning stages of this journey and I'm planning to start with two new Springfield Armory Garrison 1911s.unless anyone has a better idea? Thanks to the magic of the internet it is really easy to find info on pretty much any gun from a movie or tv show. I mean who wouldn't want two gold (TiN), ported, custom 1911s? I have wanted to build these two pistols I first saw them grace the screen. Face/Off, Demolition Man, The Rock, T2, Blade, Speed, True Lies, Die Hard 3, Con Air, Bad Boys, US Marshals, Cliffhanger, Under Seige, Desperado, Broken Arrow, Last Action Hero, Assassins.all still are great to this day! Growing up in the 90's was the best time for action movies, and this was on repeat at my house. Follow along as I begin my journey to replicate the two 1911 pistols wielded by Castor Troy, in the critically acclaimed masterpiece, by the brilliant director John Woo, starring the ever zany, Nick Cage, and the shape shifting talent of John Travolta, in Face/Off. ![]()
